Welcome to the QSI International School of Bishkek!
Greetings to new and prospective students and parents as well as our current students and parents!
The QSI International School of Bishkek is a private, non-profit co-educational, college preparatory institution. QSIB was founded in 1994 in order to provide a quality education for expatriates living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Parents are primarily employed by embassies, corporations and local governmental agencies. It is a highly mobile community.
QSIB is a relatively small sized school that allows the students, teachers and parents to work in a family environment. The class size for each age level is small and includes a certified teacher and a paraprofessional. The students include ages 3 to 18 or Pre-school through Secondary IV.
QSIB is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). It holds membership in The Central Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) and is affiliated with the Department of State Office of Overseas Schools (OAS).
QSIB follows an American college preparatory curriculum including Advanced Placement classes. In addition to its scholastic goals, the school endeavors to provide its students with a specialized program including French, Russian, and Spanish language. Students are provided instruction in the host country culture for those wishing to pursue higher education in Kyrgyzstan. After school activities are scheduled for Elementary and Secondary and include soccer, basketball, literacy, languages, art classes, music classes, dance, science projects and games. These activities change every seven weeks.
Classroom teachers are mostly from the United States and Canada. All classroom teachers have a diploma, experience, teaching certificate and are teaching in areas of their expertise. Special local teachers are employed for areas of art, music, P.E., IT, Library and Languages. All of these local teachers have a teaching degree and are proficient in English.
QSIB believes in a personalized approach to instruction leading to mastery within a positive and enjoyable learning environment. It offers a challenging academic curriculum for students age 3 through Secondary IV (17 years old). Studies are tailored to meet the individual needs of the students.
QSIB offers three diplomas upon graduation: Academic Diploma With Honors, Academic Diploma, and General Diploma.
